Who we are
ROOTS Quest is a youth-led course in systems thinking and regenerative design for students in Grades 6–8, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. You can reach us at rootsquestorg@gmail.com.
What we collect
When you register, you give us:
- the student’s first and last name,
- a parent or guardian’s first and last name,
- an email address (the student’s or the guardian’s),
- the student’s grade (6, 7 or 8), and
- a short answer about why the student is interested in sustainability or regenerative design.
If you email us, we also keep your message and email address so we can reply.
Why we collect it
We use this information only to run the course: to confirm a place, to send the Zoom link and course updates, to answer your questions, and to understand who the course is reaching so we can improve it.
Children’s information
ROOTS Quest is designed for students aged 11 to 14. We ask that a parent or guardian completes or approves every registration. If you believe a child has given us information without a guardian’s knowledge, email us and we will delete it.
Who handles your information
Registration forms are received through Formspree, a form-processing service, which passes the answers to us by email. Live sessions run on Zoom, which has its own privacy practices. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies, tracking and third-party content
This website does not use advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not set cookies of our own. To display the site, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and animation code from the jsDelivr network, which means those services can see your IP address and basic browser details when a page loads. Links to LinkedIn, Instagram and the organizations in our case studies lead to their own sites, which follow their own policies.
How long we keep it
We keep registration details only as long as we need them to run the course and follow up with families, and we delete them when they are no longer needed.
Your choices
You can ask us at any time to show you the information we hold about you or your child, to correct it, or to delete it. Email rootsquestorg@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we can.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
